Hey! Before we get into the fun stuff, here's how I run things. This keeps us both protected and makes sure the work actually happens.
All work is paid before it begins. No exceptions.
Under $2,500: Payment in full before work starts. This applies to project work, sprint-based work, and one-time builds.
$2,500 and over: 50/50 split - 50% deposit before kickoff, 50% before final delivery. For ongoing retainers, that's 50%
at the start of the month and 50% at mid-month.
I don't hold your spot, start work, or continue sessions on an unpaid balance.
Invoices are due within 5 business days of receipt.
If an invoice goes unpaid past 5 business days, a late fee of $75 or 5% of the outstanding balance (whichever is greater) is added for every 30 days it remains unpaid.
If an invoice reaches 60 days past due, work pauses until the balance is cleared.
I'm a systems and tech support person - if something breaks or comes up while we're already in the weeds together, I'm not going to make you open a whole new ticket for it. That's just how good support works.
What does need its own conversation: a brand new project, a new system we haven't discussed, or something that's going to significantly shift where my time goes. In those cases, we'll scope it together before I start.
Communication
My core working days are Tuesday through Thursday. I respond to messages within 24 business hours on those days.
For everything else, expect a response within 72 hours.
Same-day and last-minute requests are accepted on a case-by-case basis and may disrupt previously agreed-upon timelines. Any work with a required turnaround of 72 hours or less - or a project with a compressed timeline - is subject to the following expedited rates:
Hourly work: $350/hr
Project work: project rate + 30% rush surcharge
If something is urgent, flag it clearly and we'll figure it out - subject to availability.
I'll give 30 days written notice for any changes to these terms. You'll always know what you're agreeing to.
